Pros

I am happy and inspired by my work at XPRIZE. Almost everyone will tell you that the staff is a group of smart, passionate, fun people with diverse and interesting backgrounds who are inspired by our mission. The salary and benefits far exceed most non-profits, and this is an exciting place to work. I have grown in ways I couldn't have imagined when I started, and have always felt supported and given many opportunities for professional growth. I have seen many managers go above and beyond to find new opportunities and expanded roles for staff at all levels. There have been good strides in workplace flexibility, and XPRIZE is extremely supportive when staff go through big life events like new baby, death in the family, major illnesses, etc. In general we rally to support each other, we work hard and we have fun. Most of all, we get to work with inspiring people on meaningful work.

Cons

There has been constant change over the past few years. Some of it has been necessary and helpful, but it can lead to some confusion or anxiety about one's role, department, or the direction of the organization. It is true that there is a fairly high staff turnover. There seems to be a range of experiences with culture depending on one's department and/or specific role, so obviously I can only speak to my personal experience.

Pros

lots of room for autonomy, working on world's hardest problems, great culture, great people, great benefits.

Cons

always room for improvement in scheduling all hands meetings- (hard with so many people in the company), doing a LOT of things at once (generally good thing, comes with challenges)
