Pros

I cannot think of any pros...Perhaps the fact that they will hire you after a brief phone interview?!

Cons

My significant other and I were hired to work at Yellowstone for the upcoming Summer season. Apparently Xanterra runs background checks about a week prior to working. Well, they found something on my BF's background check (something minor and over six years old) and e-mailed him one day before our contract was about to commence. The e-mail itself was cryptic in that it did not say what issue was at stake. After spending a ton of money to travel to Yellowstone, we drove another 80 miles to the Employment Office, and were then informed about the issue. It would have been nice to know, say, two weeks prior so that we would not be out a bunch of time, money, and effort. I have worked in HR, and have always conducted background checks well before I offered someone a job. Very unprofessional, IMO. On a separate note, I understand that they cannot officially hire people who have issues on their background check. Fair enough. But to let us know after we arrived was ridiculous and could have been avoided. As mentioned previously, this offense was from six years ago, and my BF was unaware it was even on the report. I also had to e-mail them a week before to ask when they would administer my background check, which was ludicrous. HR: Do your job! Run reports in a timely fashion and if discrepancies exist, contact a potential employee. Do not send a casual e-mail one day before a job starts! And if a problem arises, let people know! If they had run the report in a timely fashion, we could have taken care of the issue accordingly, or would have not traveled 1500 miles to be rejected. All of this could have been prevented if they had taken the above precautionary steps!

Pros

None if you're in leadership

Cons

Very poor work life balance, if you're a manager you will be all alone. Very messy full of kids leaving home for the first time. And pay is so low you'll make more money doing uber
