Pros

Very well equipped office in Milton Keynes.

Cons

I offer the following advice to any people thinking of working in the Milton Keynes office: 1) The office culture in Milton Keynes is probably dramatically less intelligent than you expect. I’ve worked for an architecture company, a leisure company head office, a multinational retailer, a logistics company, a pressure group, pubs, restaurants, a cinema once! I was shocked by how unintelligent the culture was at this place. 2) Take a very sceptical look at interviewers and potential colleagues/bosses. 3) You probably dramatically underestimate the chances of being very frustrated here. 4) You probably dramatically underestimate the chances of not working here very long, either by choice or otherwise. 5) If you do choose to work here, prepare yourself (particularly financially) to not work here very long. ESPECIALLY if you are thinking of relocating to work here. I mean this very seriously. My time at this office was a shocking farce. Some of the comments in other reviews here resonate; from both UK and abroad.

Thank you for sharing your comments and I'm so sorry Xero UK didn't work out for you. Xero is growing rapidly and our culture, our ongoing needs for flexibility and 'hustle' are not for everyone. Sadly, in this particular case, Xero UK was not for you. Generally, we enjoy a low turnover of employees, high employee engagement and eNPS scores and a real sense that people love working here. We wish you all the best for your future success and sincerely hope you find an employer that suits you and your work style better. Anne.

Pros

Xero has a great product and a lot of very passionate employees who work very hard for their customers.

Cons

The executive leadership at Xero is creating a toxic, backstabbing culture that promotes yes-men at the expense of honest dialogue. It's impossible to make decisions at the company, and multiple rounds of layoffs are leaving all employees shell shocked and fearful. Marketing teams are under-resourced while more demands are constantly being placed on teams to do more. When constraints are communicated, employees are blamed for them, rather that listened to. Multiple colleagues have said the same thing. Additionally, management has instituted a 'rank and yank' policy where everyone is graded on a forced curve, where the bottom quarter are immediately put on a PIP.
