Pros
The culture in this place is second to none from my experience. Every individual is made to feel important and we, in turn, feel personally responsible for the company's success. Generally speaking, those that work here are incredibly proud to do so and are real ambassadors for the company. Let's be honest, on the face of it accounting software is not sexy but somehow Xero have managed to make it so and there is a working culture to complement the fantastic product we have. There is also a recognition that there are always improvements to be made and there is a real hunger for positive change throughout the organisation which translates to being able to not only come up with ideas but to start executing them almost immediately. The work is challenging (in a good way) but the working environment is so great that you're more than happy to go the extra mile. If that isn't enough, you get free barista-style coffee, soft drinks, fruit and a healthy breakfast spread daily. If you're based in Milton Keynes there's a pool table, table tennis, table football, PS4, dart board, arcade games, etc. if you ever need to clear your head for a few moments or recharge the batteries.
Cons
With so many creative minds in one place we do tend to come up with a million and one ideas for changes we'd like to make but often try to do them all at once so sometimes we just need to take a deep breath and prioritise. Having said that, it definitely keeps you on your toes and for me personally, that makes it an exciting place to be.
