Pros

- Tons of opportunity if you take initiative and work hard. Company is expanding fast so always job to move up to. - Free company shares, vesting over 3 years. Share price has quadrupled in the time I've been there (over 5 years). - Very family friendly. - Good support for flexible working, working from home. - Casual dress - you can rock your blue hair, cross-dressing, goth outfits, whatever ... - Lots of training available. - Some opportunity for international travel, depending on role. - If you're on the Product side (developer, QA, product manager/owner) you are very well looked after. - Free espresso coffee, free company drinks every Friday night, regular ice cream, pizza, cup cakes and other treats. - Free t-shirt every year. - Company is dominating in the markets it plays in. Very, very bright future.

Cons

- Some terrible managers who stay and do damage for far too long. - Company hasn't handled people complaining about terrible managers very well. Some good people have left because they weren't heard. - Pace of work is FAST! Rapid expansion and adoption of agile methodology means there's no mucking around.

Pros

Xero has a great product and a lot of very passionate employees who work very hard for their customers.

Cons

The executive leadership at Xero is creating a toxic, backstabbing culture that promotes yes-men at the expense of honest dialogue. It's impossible to make decisions at the company, and multiple rounds of layoffs are leaving all employees shell shocked and fearful. Marketing teams are under-resourced while more demands are constantly being placed on teams to do more. When constraints are communicated, employees are blamed for them, rather that listened to. Multiple colleagues have said the same thing. Additionally, management has instituted a 'rank and yank' policy where everyone is graded on a forced curve, where the bottom quarter are immediately put on a PIP.
