Pros

Salary, location, well-being leave, work hours, coffee machine,

Cons

Poor product, which is entry level accounting software in comparison to competitors, this software is mostly suited for people with no accounting experience/small businesses. A product you’ll not believe in but will be forced to believe in like it’s just revolutionised the financial industry! The product is over hyped as being better than competitors. Job role is basic and exaggerated, apparently you’ll do the best work in your life by working at Xero (by telling customers how to click on certain tabs and helping them via TeamViewer) which many call centres in India do. They’ll lie to you during your interview about how great and technical the job role is. Fake culture, full of 21 year olds, fresh out of school and Amazon warehouse workers, apparently they hire smart people and only smart people. Google hire very smart people! Excuses such as hyper growth and it’s not for everyone to cover up the damaged culture. Seen many Black and Asian hires get bullied or hired to get fired. Luckily for me though, I didn’t fit in that category but I’m a liberal millennial who believes in fair treatment.

Pros

Xero has a great product and a lot of very passionate employees who work very hard for their customers.

Cons

The executive leadership at Xero is creating a toxic, backstabbing culture that promotes yes-men at the expense of honest dialogue. It's impossible to make decisions at the company, and multiple rounds of layoffs are leaving all employees shell shocked and fearful. Marketing teams are under-resourced while more demands are constantly being placed on teams to do more. When constraints are communicated, employees are blamed for them, rather that listened to. Multiple colleagues have said the same thing. Additionally, management has instituted a 'rank and yank' policy where everyone is graded on a forced curve, where the bottom quarter are immediately put on a PIP.
