Pros

- They reward high performance very well - Co-workers are very talented and knowledgeably, so I was always learning from them. Because getting a job at Yahoo is tough (Used to be that 1 job given per 100 resumes), the quality of people here is of high caliber. - Possibility to work with multiple teams, so you can work on more than one project at the same time and keep life interesting - Career growth and goals are taken seriously, I moved on from Software engineering to Research position gradually - Competitive perks and salary - Fun informal environment

Cons

- Media coverage of the company since 2008, The inside reality of the company is completely different from how its portraid in the media.

Pros

Relatively easy to get things done for a company with such a long history. Certainly not "start up" like, but processes like resource allocation have less overhead than working at a company like Google. Pay was pretty good for the midwest. I hear they are currently pretty open to remote work. It's also not the hardest place to work.

Cons

Opportunities are limited in software engineering. Since Apollo took over, SE was viewed mostly under the lens of "what is the least we can invest here to get the job done". There used to be a really good office in Champaign with lots of very talented software engineers put together. That's gone now.
