Pros

1. Pay is decent, but there is no annual increase unless you get a promotion. 2. Most engineers are knowledge and approachable. 3. Free food, but you have to line up for 30 mins at least to get food.

Cons

1. Too many reorgs. Shuffling resources every three months. I had 3 managers during 8 months there. 2. Too many layoffs. People just disappear for no reason. 3. Managers suck! They are the ones who should be let go of!! They make terrible decision and all they do is to push you and make Yahoo a sweatshop. 4. Products suck. Who the heck is still using Yahoo? The CEO tries to sugar coat bad things and brain wash the employees as much as possible.

Pros

Relatively easy to get things done for a company with such a long history. Certainly not "start up" like, but processes like resource allocation have less overhead than working at a company like Google. Pay was pretty good for the midwest. I hear they are currently pretty open to remote work. It's also not the hardest place to work.

Cons

Opportunities are limited in software engineering. Since Apollo took over, SE was viewed mostly under the lens of "what is the least we can invest here to get the job done". There used to be a really good office in Champaign with lots of very talented software engineers put together. That's gone now.
