Pros

You get paid either hourly or salary. Most people are hourly and unhappy.

Cons

The corporate office is horrible. Nobody say hi and just walks by without eye contact. This could be due to the fact that human resources measures your work by a "swipe report" that monitors when you are in the office. People come in their pajamas just so they can swipe in then they walk around like droids. Salaried and hourly workers are monitored so you don't feel trusted. Management's job is to monitor swipes. Nobody has management skills/training. Yardi is not where you go to up your skills or make money. Yardi is where you go if you know that you will work there for a short period of time (desperate) or you need benefits. Otherwise, don't halt your career. If you are a professional already, do not work here. There is always another option. They treat you like children. I.E.. human resources leaves bags of candy, temporary tattoo on your desk for certain holidays.

Readers of the Yardi Glassdoor reviews will recognize that your experience at Yardi is quite different from that of other employees who have posted from the Santa Barbara office. We’ve heard many comments about how nice the people are here. Keep in mind that friendliness is a two-way highway. Regarding your comment about the “swipe report,” due to the nature of our business, a FOB system is required in our field as it is in many software companies. HR (and your manager) does not measure your performance by hours worked. You are reviewed by the quality of your work and, of course by your attitude toward your work and the people around you. You’re right that “there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ person” and we work very hard to acknowledge and accommodate the diverse population within all our offices.

Pros

Time off when you're able to get it.

Cons

If you are a high performer, be prepared to take on the workload of others. The company does not consistently hold underperformers accountable, which often leaves stronger employees constantly cleaning up the gaps. Hard workers tend to get burned out quickly. Work life balance is a significant challenge. It’s common to work through vacations, as you are expected to find coverage for your responsibilities while you’re away and reliable coverage is difficult to secure. This can create added stress both before and during time off. Overall, the environment may be manageable for someone who prefers a slower pace, but overachievers should be aware that their workload will expand without additional support. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of accountability for underperformers, which leaves high performers constantly left to fix their mistakes.
