Pros

Yardi was a good company for those looking to start their career in proptech. The corporate training program is solid, and they give you plenty of responsibility early on, which helps you learn quickly. The industry is interesting, and the products are widely used in real estate. Coworkers are supportive and collaborative, making for a positive work environment.

Cons

Besides the below market value compensation and abysmal yearly bonus. Toxic Management and Retaliatory Culture Management operates with passive-aggressive tactics, and favoritism is rampant—certain employees receive preferential treatment for characteristics unrelated to merit. I’ll just leave it at that… Frequent corporate restructurings mean your team and job responsibilities can change overnight with no notice. The issues stem from the top down. Speaking up to HR in hopes of improving conditions only makes you a target. Retaliation is real, and management makes it clear they don’t welcome feedback. I was personally told by a manager after contacting HR, “I didn’t know we hired losers here who go to HR.” That alone speaks volumes. If you value stability and a professional work environment, look elsewhere. Oh and some of the nepotism hires from the CEO are just plain atrocious.

Though your experiences are vastly different from what we hear from other employees at Yardi, we take concerns like this seriously and value your feedback. At Yardi, our core values focus on integrity, inclusion, and professionalism in the workplace, and we have no tolerance for discrimination, misconduct, or any form of retaliatory behavior. While we are a family-friendly company, all advancement opportunities are based solely on proven performance metrics and subject matter knowledge. We highly encourage anyone with concerns of this nature or those who feel negatively impacted by something to schedule time to meet with any member of the HR management team or our VP of Human Resources to further discuss and give us an opportunity to help.

Pros

Time off when you're able to get it.

Cons

If you are a high performer, be prepared to take on the workload of others. The company does not consistently hold underperformers accountable, which often leaves stronger employees constantly cleaning up the gaps. Hard workers tend to get burned out quickly. Work life balance is a significant challenge. It’s common to work through vacations, as you are expected to find coverage for your responsibilities while you’re away and reliable coverage is difficult to secure. This can create added stress both before and during time off. Overall, the environment may be manageable for someone who prefers a slower pace, but overachievers should be aware that their workload will expand without additional support. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of accountability for underperformers, which leaves high performers constantly left to fix their mistakes.
