Pros

Working with young adults and co-workers. Benefits were good until they changed them in 2020.

Cons

Leadership is terrible. It is an abusive work environment. They expect you to give up your whole life for Year Up. They play favorites and use race as a weapon. They promote unqualified internal candidates and treat many others as if they don't matter. They talk about Core Values, but do not live up to them.

We appreciate the highlights you provided about working alongside your co-workers and young adults. We take any indication of workplace abuse, harassment, and discrimination of any kind seriously and would encourage you to reach out to feedback@yearup.org so that we can connect you to the right resources (if you feel comfortable doing so). As an organization actively seeking to build more equitable practices, it's important that we continue to hear from employees regarding their experiences. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need support.

Pros

- Competitive compensation - Excellent organizational leadership, passion, and culture - Programs really make a difference in the students' lives

Cons

Any new site comes with some growing pains and so we are still figuring some things out as we go. Could use a little more direction or "best practices" from other sites or leadership. But again, these things come with any new sites!
