Pros

I really do enjoy working here at Year Up. The students make the hard work worth while, but also allows you to grow as a professional. This is also a great space to learn to navigate political spaces. Working here has allowed me to really grow professionally and, learn to manage up.

Cons

I also recognize the pitfalls of the organization. 1 is that at times we don't practice what we preach. As an org we invest millions of dollars into social campaigns encouraging other employers to hire opportunity youth however we do not hire full time employees that fall within that spectrum. If we do make the hires it is extremely hard for them to grow.

Pros

- Competitive compensation - Excellent organizational leadership, passion, and culture - Programs really make a difference in the students' lives

Cons

Any new site comes with some growing pains and so we are still figuring some things out as we go. Could use a little more direction or "best practices" from other sites or leadership. But again, these things come with any new sites!
