Pros

Year Up lives by its mission and I’ve appreciated the opportunity to work with some of the brightest people ever. Great benefits and structure- enjoyed the flexibility, the career development I had and the camaraderie.

Cons

Year Up will not take care of you. Year Up likes beating around the bush and not being straightforward with decisions that impact it’s people. Put all their energy into the wrong aspects but rarely take feedback from their employees (even if they’re a feedback culture). Spends too much time trying to innovate new models that don’t deliver, encourages staff to take on extra roles without compensation, and when you are out the door, try to shower you with gratitude. If you decide to work here, know the organization will do little for you but will say they have PD funds and a great mission.

Pros

- Competitive compensation - Excellent organizational leadership, passion, and culture - Programs really make a difference in the students' lives

Cons

Any new site comes with some growing pains and so we are still figuring some things out as we go. Could use a little more direction or "best practices" from other sites or leadership. But again, these things come with any new sites!
