Pros

Benefits were good, you can take advantage of the company easily by clocking hours working remote and not actually working.

Cons

A worked here for 4+ years so I learned the highs and lows of the company. Worked for multiple managers in office and when they first went remote. One manager Brandon was insane you can literally be one of the highest reps in sales and he would still complain about you not making enough calls or make you jump through ridiculous hoops like doing homework assignments or make threats that he will report you to HR to get you fired. Remotely for 2 years I would just play video games, party with friends over at my pool or just do whatever and make fake calls to get my numbers up. I played this company so good for so long I was able to do this because I would actually get a lot of sales. I made decent money but all and all wasn’t worth it. Everything you hear about how they treat their employees is accurate they don’t care about you or your well being if your not making them money your worthless to them. Some of the people I met and worked with were actually good ppl but the deeper and longer they worked here they definitely changed over time trading their morals and soul to sell ads to businesses that don’t need them on a platform that doesn’t work. My last year at Yelp I was planning to leave and because of the way I was treated by some of managers I fully decided to take advantage of my situation and got on medical leave and was able to get paid for almost a year fully paid and when I got fired I got unemployment as well. My best advice to anyone currently working here do the same if your thinking about quitting don’t stick it to them for the way they treat you and look into medical leave instead come back and get fired. Getting fired was a blessing because I collected unemployment for about another year after also!

Pros

Supportive management-My manager is amazing and truly cares about my personal and professional growth. Career development- I love the position I am in, but have been encouraged for others. Yelp offers great opportunities to advance, explore new roles and develop new skills if that's the direction you want. Work life balance-10/10. As a mom of 3, I feel empowered to balance my family responsibilities and career and Yelp does just that. Inclusivity and culture- Yelp’s commitment to belonging and inclusivity is real, I’ve always felt valued here. I love my team so much. Flexibility- Movement between roles and growth are genuinely supported. Working from home also helps a lot with flexibility. Employee recognition-Hard work is acknowledged and celebrated daily.

Cons

Large company changes- Like any sizable company, occasional shifts or leadership changes mean adapting to new processes. Remote work challenges- Not unique to Yelp, but staying connected with coworkers virtually can take extra effort. Compensation-Base is very low compared to a lot of other tech companies, but again you put the work in and it all evens out.
