Pros
The "we do whatever it takes" attitude has made youth villages successful. You can obtain higher education at the expense of YV. The job is flexiable. You can go to the doctor without having to take a sick day.
Cons
Although YV will pay for higher education, good luck having time to study or go to class. The job is flexiable but sometimes a little to flexiable. Managment often times expects you to drop everything to go to a training that they have known about for months but only inform you of a few days before. Expectations are too high. Paperwork expecations are high but I think most counselors would agree they could handle the paperwork if they weren't force to feel like a case disrupting is all their fault. We deal with kids who meet requirements for residential treatment, so it stands to reason that we may not always be able to keep a kid in the home.
