Pros
Benefits Some great people I worked with around the globe
Cons
No offense to the Japanese who I continue to respect, but the culture is vastly different from American culture and as an American you are treated as a minority. It is very nepotistic, for example, an Assistant Manager who is Japanese has more leverage and power than an American V.P. Every year Japanese expats relocate and a new group comes into management positions. This means every year changes based on hiring and firing of anyone under the new Japanese in charge. those changes have a trickle-down effect on everyone. This leads to disorganization due constant upheaval and turnover and they always leave behind unfinished business like creating standardized processes, improving I.T. (Surprisingly sooo far behind in technology, or lack of...) They bring you in and make you feel important. You have something to bring to the table and they NEED you, but you are destined for failure.
