Pros
The lower level managers and new department leads are great. I feel like my direct supervisors listened to me and heard my concerns and victories but they do not have a path up to solve anything. The majority of employees at ZL are fun, intelligent, and match every value I was looking for at an individual level. There is a lot of opportunity to learn and grow where you want. My direct manager encouraged me to involve myself in initiatives and projects - I didn’t have time to do those with my workload but the gesture is there.
Cons
The workload is unbearable and every department is understaffed. Higher management does not seem to care or acknowledge how hard employees are working. In my job search while leaving, I found that pay/packages is often lower than similar positions for most roles. There is room to grow in knowledge but no one ever makes a leadership growth plan with you and there is no middle management to move to. I worked at ZL several years, and each year was just a tiny pay increase with no title change and my work was never reflected in that.
