Pros

I've been on the client side, and I know ZS's ease of working with people and their genuine 'niceness' for lack of a better word is a huge advantage for this firm in winning projects. Most people are also hard working and intelligent. They have the right idea that data insights are the future for healthcare clients. Great people culture. Partners were extremely supportive of a staff member during a very stressful time and allowed them to focus on life without penalty even though it was one of the firm's busiest times. I will never forget that they did that for them. Pay and insurance were also very competitive.

Cons

Just my opinion - I think they were a little too focused on utilization and finance metrics (esp. margin) for each project. I think it is totally fine to do that in established areas like commercial/market access/sales where ZS excels, but in my opinion is not the best idea for their growth areas like PD RD etc., where expense management impacts who they put on the team and can cause burnout to the few experts they put on each team. More importantly, this can negatively affect the outcome/quality of their projects for newer clients and can negatively impact client's motivation to work with them in the long term.

Pros

Strong culture and collaborative environment with smart, supportive colleagues. Admins are trusted partners and get exposure to senior leadership, which provides great learning opportunities. Compensation and benefits are competitive compared to similar roles.

Cons

Workload can be high, with admins often supporting multiple stakeholders while also providing backup coverage. Expectations can vary widely depending on the team, which can create inconsistency and pressure. Career growth paths are less structured and require a lot of self-direction. Work-life balance can be challenging at times, especially across time zones.
