Pros

Zayo is great to work for when everything is going right. Senior management seem to know what their doing (Dan C, Matt E, Dave J), but it doesn't filter down to Regionals Management, Market Managers, and Supervisors.. A lot of employees get to work from home, which is a huge plus. A title is just a title at Zayo, my supervisor has the same title as me but runs our area. He does a great job, until our VP gets in the way. There is a great camaraderie at Zayo to get things done, especially at the end of the quarter. Zayo has a great group of employees, some long time fiber people others past business owners and some brand new and inexperienced. If you know the right people advance opportunity is great, knowing the right people is the problem with advancement.

Cons

I would say 20 percent of the company actually likes the Zayo culture. Most of the other people that work for Zayo do so for the money or they need a job. The current jobless atmosphere plays well into Zayos high turnover of employees. There seems to be an upper class of Zayo employees that work in Colorado, that are above everyone else. If you have a family, Zayo might not be the place for you. Zayo has no work life balance, most of the people I work with always complain about having to work 60 + hours a week and not getting no time off. Vacations don't happen at Zayo, sure you get PTO days but you are so busy you don't get to use them. You might get a 3 day weekend here and there but you won't get the vacation you want. If you do get a day off your phone will ring, and you will be interrupted constantly... My advice to you, leave the country or go someplace your phone won't work. If you don't use your PTO days only a certain amount of them carry to the next year. We don't get many holidays off, which isn't great for family time. When everyone else has the day off you are working. I can go over a list of days, but that isn't very productive. I can tell you our competitors are off when we are working. Benefits aren't great, but they are cheap. The last company I came from was a much smaller construction company that contracted for Zayo. The benefits there were a lot better and they company was 90 percent smaller.. There is no matching 401k at Zayo, and even though the company keeps preaching they are going public, I haven't seen any stock come my way. My supervisor has worked for the company over a year and he hasn't seen any either.. The company doesn't promote within very well, we get new hires that no nothing about Zayo starting in leadership roles.. Things change pretty fast at Zayo, not always for the best. Zayo is trying to be a Google, or Facebook but don't value their employees the way great companies do. Instead of trying to give their employees a great work life balance they work them into the ground and we end up losing great people. Even though I've worked for Zayo less than a year, I've seen a lot happen. I'm not sure where I stand, and I don't think anyone really does. The only person I get told how good I'm doing is the guy that hired me and I think he was taken out of his leadership role (I think he was to nice) Our new boss doesn't say much and doesn't give us much direction, we are just expected to know what to do. He doesn't like phone calls, and he rarely answers emails.

Pros

Excellent sales enablement, tools, and internal support. Leadership has done a good job creating an environment where Enterprise Account Executives can focus on selling instead of getting bogged down by administrative tasks. CRM data is clean, processes are organized, and responsibilities between Sales, Customer Success, and Account Management are clearly defined. It’s refreshing to work for a company that invests in the systems and structure needed to help its sales teams succeed.

Cons

Ongoing integration efforts following the Crown Castle Fiber acquisition mean some processes and systems are still evolving. As with most enterprise sales roles, building pipeline requires significant self-sourcing and prospecting across a large territory. The product portfolio is extensive, which creates a bit of a learning curve for new hires but also provides opportunities to solve complex customer challenges.
