Pros

Good people. Many have been around a while so you sense a team of people that supports each other and wants to see one another do well after working so hard so many years chasing the carrot.

Cons

Good people are leaving. A once exciting environment is now dysfunctional and full of internal struggles - mostly trickled down from the top. Entitlement is apparent and obnoxious. Raises are rare and salaries are lower than market.

I agree we have a lot of good people who support each other and want to see one another do well after years of hard work. The carrot we have chased is to assemble a dramatic amount of strategically valuable fiber and customer relationships. The resulting platform is one that can sustain and grow well-paying jobs for years to come. Additional personal financial rewards associated with this are embedded in the equity plan, which has been shared with about 50% of our employee base. Though I'm not sure what part of Zayo you are with, it bothers me to hear of the dysfunction and internal struggles your are encountering. This environment isn't apparent from my vantage point, but I will probe around. Please feel free to approach me directly so I can better understand your perspective.

Pros

Excellent sales enablement, tools, and internal support. Leadership has done a good job creating an environment where Enterprise Account Executives can focus on selling instead of getting bogged down by administrative tasks. CRM data is clean, processes are organized, and responsibilities between Sales, Customer Success, and Account Management are clearly defined. It’s refreshing to work for a company that invests in the systems and structure needed to help its sales teams succeed.

Cons

Ongoing integration efforts following the Crown Castle Fiber acquisition mean some processes and systems are still evolving. As with most enterprise sales roles, building pipeline requires significant self-sourcing and prospecting across a large territory. The product portfolio is extensive, which creates a bit of a learning curve for new hires but also provides opportunities to solve complex customer challenges.
