Pros

there used to be remarkable talent before they were driven off, fired or offended so severely that they are trying to leave. The product may be decent

Cons

One of the clearest signs this company is in trouble is that the CEO feels comfortable using the company intranet as a personal political platform. Recently, the CEO posted a long, unsolicited message to employees discussing immigration, local demographics, partisan politics, and election outcomes. The post included references to MAGA, “blue counties,” and — shockingly — comparisons involving Kristallnacht, Auschwitz, and concentration camps. This was not framed as business-related, values-based leadership. It was a political rant delivered from the highest position of power inside the company. This is profoundly inappropriate in a workplace setting. A CEO does not speak as a private citizen on an internal platform. Every word carries institutional authority. Posting political commentary like this creates immediate pressure on employees to either silently agree or disengage out of fear of being seen as “misaligned.” It alienates employees across the political spectrum and erodes psychological safety — especially for immigrants, minorities, Jewish employees, and anyone with lived experience of persecution whose history was casually invoked to make a political point. The post also framed ethnic groups as demographic blocs and discussed population changes in a way that no responsible leader should ever do in a professional environment. Even when wrapped in claims of support, this kind of language reinforces “us vs. them” thinking and violates the spirit — if not the letter — of basic inclusion and anti-harassment policies. Equally troubling is what this reveals structurally: - There appears to be no meaningful governance or communications oversight. - HR either lacks independence or authority, or was bypassed entirely. Is no one is overseeing this behavior?? - Leadership does not understand (or does not care about) the power imbalance inherent in CEO-to-employee communication. This wasn’t a one-off mistake. It reflects a larger pattern of poor judgment, blurred boundaries, and a belief that personal ideology belongs in corporate spaces. That mindset inevitably bleeds into decision-making, talent retention, and risk management. If the CEO is willing to post inflammatory political content internally, imagine what decisions are being made behind closed doors. For prospective employees: if you value professionalism, neutrality, and a workplace where you don’t have to navigate your boss’s political worldview to feel safe or succeed, proceed with extreme caution. For leadership and the board (if they exist in any meaningful sense): this is exactly the kind of behavior that gets companies into legal, reputational, and talent crises — and it should never have been allowed to happen
