Plummeting benefits for employees - BSA/AML Analyst Zions Bancorporation Employee Review

Pros

Direct leadership is decent. I.e. supervisors and middle management.

Cons

Plummeting employee benefits. - Return to office mandate while all standards, goals, and requirements are withheld with near perfect standards. - Recently combined and reduced sick days and PTO. - Horrific medical benefits. High deductibles with high cost with low coverage benefits before and after deductible has been met. - Upper manage couldn’t care less about the employees. They just want their shiny new building to be used and appreciated, they’re employees to be controlled, oppressed, and unhappy, all while riding high on their power trip.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on Glassdoor.. We truly appreciate your candid insights and your years of dedicated service at Zions Bancorporation. We’re glad to hear that you’ve had a positive experience with your direct leadership. We also want to acknowledge your concerns regarding employee benefits and the return-to-office mandate. We understand that the transition back to the office can be challenging, and we truly appreciate your honesty. The decision to return was made with thoughtful consideration, and it stems from our belief that we are better when we are together. Being in person fosters stronger collaboration, deeper connections, and a shared sense of purpose to better serve our clients. That said, we recognize that every employee’s situation is unique, and we’re committed to listening and learning as we move forward. Your feedback regarding changes to PTO and sick leave, medical benefits, and leadership has been shared with the appropriate teams. We’ll continue to evaluate how we can support our people through this change. Thank you again for being part of the conversation. If you have any additional feedback, please contact us at EmployeeExperience@zionsbancorp.com or reach out directly to our Business Conduct Manager, Stephanie Gallup, at Stephanie.Gallup@zionsbancorp.com.

Pros

- Good culture and work environment in 3 departments I have worked at, except for a few toxic managers here and there. - Compensation comparable to other large banks. - Company tries to communicate all important policies and decisions.

Cons

Challenges (common to most large companies): - Decision that are supposed to save company money, in practice lead to higher error rate, more friction between departments, and unhappier customers, because they are made by higher level managers who don't understand the consequences (e.g. transferring loan operation from affiliates to bancorp, dissolving and creating departments, adopting new software, outsourcing). - Too many meetings with little to no benefit to productivity. - Lack of power for lower level managers to make helpful changes because of the company's tall organizational structure. - A lot of managers' resistance to new ideas and change. - Company has been making genuine effort to help employees grow but it's not successful because it is based on incorrect understanding of what makes a good manager. - Technology problems such as software issues and getting needed access. - Back-to-office mandate has led to many employees very unhappy or leaving, without any seemingly positive results for company productivity.
