Pros

Community banking equals strong client relationships.

Cons

Conservative and patriarchal culture. Women and minorities not treated fairly which will only hurt the company in the long run. We need white men to acknowledge there really is disparate treatment and unconscious bias or nothing will ever really change. If the bank wants to be successful at showing they are progressive and not bias on protected class, Zions should review salaries for like roles and responsibilities and do market adjustments for situations where there is an obvious difference in pay for the same work requirements and experience. That would go a long way to close gender and minority wage gaps. Women often get asked to do extra “office mom” work without recognition of time & effort or if a task doesn’t contribute to a measured sales or performance matrix. For example clerical work, planning parties/events, department engagement activities. It doesn’t make sense to have DEI trainings & activities when the only people invested in attending or making any changes are women & minorities.

Pros

Great support from superiors on reaching goals. High level of satisfaction from building success in a branch setting.

Cons

Health insurance could be better. Benefits are overall okay. PTO is below what I would expect, and includes sick time which makes taking care of yourself difficult when you have to choose between enjoying a vacation day or saving it in case you get sick.
