Pros

Assistants have freedom. You're on call, but without a deadline -- you have the convenience of deciding when to complete your tasks. You work from home. You have weekends off. There is variety in your work. You talk to a lot of new people due to turn over.

Cons

Turn over is constant. Internal change is constant. The company needs to shift focus to retention and incentives for assistants and clients. Give assistants a raise, because when management fails and clients aren't happy it falls on your shoulders to keep an upbeat working relationship. Management professes a commitment to satisfaction on Zirtual website, but cares more about making money than making sure there are enough assistants to win client satisfaction. Zirtual does not provide enough support or training. Assistants end up taking the heat. It's hard working as an assistant when management won't extend "make-goods" to clients when stuff goes wrong.

Pros

Zirtual now includes Double, Virtual Gurus, Delegated, and Del Trust. We are under the umbrella of PennSpring Capital so this cash cow is not going anywhere.

Cons

They take 50% of the client's fee; we pay a 30% Federal tax + State tax on the remainder, in addition to sourcing our own software and equipment. They say we can turn down client offers BUT they rarely send clients since the acquisitions. When they do, it is hard not to accept because it could be months before they send another. Management says, "we are waiting for a client that matches you." Meanwhile, they continue to hire new Virtual Assistants. Team meetings now include a justification for continued hired despite the massive under use of our existing team. When I started, I earned 3x times more than what I am making now. I can tell you from experience, it is really hard to plan meals for someone when you are starving.
