Pros
Great benefits. Give 7 weeks of PTO. Room for some growth.
Cons
Small crammed and generally unsafe lab. The EHS team does not care that the lab is not very ergonomic. Often the technicians have to do lab work at spaces where there is no place to put our feet. The lab is cluttered. We don’t have enough lab assistants so we have to do two jobs at once. They would rather higher other contract workers than offer promotions or raises. There is no meal break room. Management only cares about themselves. They don’t pay a living wage for the work they want or the state that we live in. There were periods where no one could use there PTO until further notice. They make it clear PTO is a “privilege” that they don’t have to give you. Management lied to employees saying that the lab was moving to a new location so a lot of us who were hired were under the impression that we were going to a new better location but it never happened for multiple years now. Overall stressful environment . In a host hospital where the hospital often leaves feces and urine outside our door which is also where we are required to eat our snacks/drink water. Old analyzers that often are down or give lots of trouble.
