Pros

If you’re willing to accept a high-stress environment and have little to know personal life, there’s the potential to make a good living off of commission.

Cons

The base pay is average, commission is all about volume as $10 for inbound and $40 for outbound are relatively low. In addition, you are required to hit quota regardless of illness, vacation, or unexpected circumstances, and are subject to consequences or termination if not met. This company does not care about its employees as individuals. It sees numbers and numbers alone. The culture is shockingly bad, with constant competition, little-to-no incentives, and poor communication. You will never get a clear answer about what chooses c-suite is making and why, and although there are constant in-house surveys for employee satisfaction, positive changes are never made. Additionally, there are rounds of mass hiring followed by series of lay-offs that are always quietly covered up. There’s a constant in-house push asking employees to post positively about working for the company on Glassdoor and LinkedIn. There’s a constant take and inconsistent benefits. For example, in the 1.5 years worked there, I went from being salaried non-exempt with unlimited (open) PTO to hourly non-exempt with limited PTO. There was no reason explained, and it was announced 2 weeks before it went into affect. I was also hired on as full-time remote, but then was told 2 months later we’d be made to return to office part time. And then 1 month later, asked to return full time. The CEO, Henry Schuck, made it clear in meetings that he was fine with people leaving because they didn’t want to return to office (when he’s never in-office himself). Likely because the company is currently building a large office. The mid-level managers are often unhelpful, you can find yourself switching teams and motions month to month. Additionally some mid-level managers see little to no oversight and get paid off their SDR’s bookings with little to no oversight. This means while few managers are good, many are not, and contribute to the high-stress little-reward environment. To make it plain: no one WANTS to work there. They stay solely for the check. There is a culture of distrust amongst everyone, especially of higher ups and corporate decisions. Everyone is constantly afraid of lay-offs.

Thank you for leaving us a review about your experience working here over the last 1+ yrs. While your experience is your own, it’s not completely accurate in terms of layoffs, transparency and incentives. Unlike other tech companies, the team built a high-growth but durable business, which helped us avoid the vast RIF numbers we've seen at other companies. The company conducted only one RIF in our history was a tough decision and we tried to make it as soft a landing as possible for the people impacted. This is why we communicated very transparently about why we did it and the severance packages we were providing to impacted employees. We also took the ZI Voice and roundtable feedback and have launched Flexible work arranges, a new policy that gives tenured and high-performing in-office employees more location flexibility and Commuter benefits. Regarding SDR Hourly Non-Exempt Transition, this shift is designed to promote a healthier work-life balance for you. By providing a bank of PTO hours within a calendar year, we aim to encourage a culture where you feel empowered and comfortable taking the time off. We are disappointed to hear that you are not feeling appreciated but we thank you for your contributing to ZI! We ask that you voice your concerns in one of the many internal feedback tools available and submit questions to be answered during the monthly all hands meetings.

Thank you for the kind words. This genuinely means a lot to us. We're proud of the caliber of leaders here and the pace at which we're embedding AI into how we work, so it's great to hear that comes through day-to-day. You're right that the macro environment is presenting challenges – we won't pretend otherwise. What we can control is continuing to move faster and smarter than our peers, and feedback like yours is a reminder of why the culture we've built is a competitive advantage in itself. We're glad you're part of it. – Jennifer Creticos, ZoomInfo Chief Business Officer

Pros

Good pay, good benefits and great office.

Cons

Poor hiring decisions, recent layoffs eliminated mostly remote employees because they are prioritizing in office employees, especially with recent investment in office. RIF was not at all based on performance which meant that some in office employees who don't know what they are doing got to keep their job. You have to suck up to management to get promoted and a lot of really good reps leave as a result of constant micro-management.

Thank you for the feedback, and we're glad the pay, benefits, and office experience worked well for you. To be clear, though, the recent restructure was not targeted at remote employees. It reflected a strategic decision to restructure some of our sales and support operations as we shift how we approach certain segments of the business, both in terms of personnel and platform. The people affected were valued contributors and we recognize their work helped make ZoomInfo what it is today. The suggestion that in-office employees who stayed "don't know what they're doing" simply isn't accurate. Additionally, we go hard at the end of every month (which is true across SaaS sales broadly) but would push back on the characterization of the culture. Our employee engagement team works hard to make that sprint enjoyable, with in-office lunches and activities. Sales is a high-pressure environment by nature, and we're proud of the culture we've built around it. We appreciate you sharing your perspective, even where we see it differently. – Stephen Antuna, ZoomInfo SVP of Account Management
