Pros
You will probably form amazing friendships because everyone is trauma bonded and leaning on eachother for support/survival. Lots of laughs at the sheer insanity of this place. It was my first job out of college, so it can only go up from here <3 Also I can't wait til someone makes a documentary about this place one day. That'll be fun!
Cons
TLDR; don't do it. Keep looking. -Promotion is not based on performance. You could be a very high performer and have 200 (yes, 200) happy clients, and they could still say you're bad at your job because you don't exemplify all 9 (yes, 9!!!) core values. Promotions are an incredibly frustrating moving target, but in general you just need to be a spineless puppet and hate yourself OR be a disrespectful snake. -Cult-like loyalty is expected. You can't be friends with former employees. I had a friend let go because his co-worker roommate left the company, and he didn't immediately MOVE OUT. -The work volume is absolutely unmanageable. The turnover is incredibly high so you are expected to take on additional clients when people inevitably leave every week. I know a lot of consulting firms have long hours during busy season, and some people are okay with that; however, this is a different realm. It's long hours with no thank you, no rest or break to recharge, no guarantee you'll get your PTO approved. They literallyyyyy call it work-life integration, and are proud of that. -There are constant changes in processes, management, team structures, responsibilities, etc. because NOTHING here is sustainable. -You see multiple people crying everyday - in restrooms, pods, through the clear glass office walls while they meet with their manager for the eighth time that week. Sometimes from exhaustion, sometimes from humiliation. The workplace is toxic. People are mean. You will be humiliated and belittled. Your mental health will take a toll, and the only mental health resource is the wellness team who will just gossip about you after you confide. -Anything positive you see or hear (free lunches, fun events, great wellness team, cool building in great location) is a facade. They're clinging to anything marketable for their constant recruiting efforts (did I mention high turnover?). -The billing practices are unethical. We had planning meetings to divvy up "billable hours" for the large clients. Employees were told to bill 50 hours for 5 hour tasks. When clients asked for itemized billing, said employees would get in trouble and were told to remove their hours (by the same managers who initially spearheaded the billing efforts). This is widely practiced across the firm and encouraged by management. Quarterly performance goals to obtain bonuses are only feasible if you bill your time unethically. -One of the 9 core values is transparency. Transparency can be a great thing, and I'm all for open door culture, but at Alliantgroup your transparency will be used against you. They will force you to be extremely vulnerable (more than what's appropriate for a professional environment) and then use everything you say to manipulate you later. Not to mention, transparency also means being disrespectful and mean to your coworkers. Actual quote from one of my development meetings: "if I don't hear at least one person talking behind your back about how much of a b**** you were this week, you're not being transparent enough." -There's not an HR department?????? -I'm literally scared to post this out of fear they'll hunt me down and find a reason to sue me. Is that a con?
