Pros

Free lunch, parking, and drinks. My Co-workers were nice.

Cons

I worked in the accounting department here for almost 2 years and I loathed coming to work. I was spoken to like a misbehaving child by a certain manager far too many times. Mainly because management commonly exploded over minor day-to-day issues. Two supervisors I had were commonly berated by management on a weekly basis in this department as well. Also, if you are in a department that is not close to revenue(like mine) you will be treated as a slave and receive a disgraceful wage. Only the breadwinners make decent money there and only ass-kissers get there. Last but not least, the work-life balance here is non-existent. I was trying to manage grad school w/ work here and I just couldn't do it. I had to get out. There are many other things I could say here, the Pro to Con ratio is just that low for some departments there. The Houston Business Journal survey was engineered to produce favorable results. Money can buy everything. If you are reading this and wondering if you should take the job... just don't do it.

Pros

Expanding company with significant upside. Great comp packages and very quick growth opportunities. Benefits packages are over the top too.

Cons

High expectations around client experience can lead to high work load periods. It’s always been worth it in the the end but it’s definitely not a 9-5.

Pros

Free food & coffee, good benefits

Cons

The worst management and leadership I have ever experienced. Hostile, abusive, toxic, and extreme lack of professionalism. If you went to a top law school and are looking for a respectable job, DO NOT work here. Sadly, your career will begin and end here if you don’t get out quickly. Certain supervisors/senior attorneys displayed signs of active addiction/use during work trips and work hours, which created a very scary and concerning environment. They also severely underpay attorneys and make you “earn” an office. There are so many actual law firms in Houston, so please stay as far away from this place as possible.
