Pros

The fact I don't work there anymore is a very big pro. yes I'm still scarred from the experience but the stress level is very low now and I now feel I'm making a difference again and expanding my career new skills that matter.

Cons

I left alliantgroup on my own accord several months ago and I must say my life has changed for the better. Instead of averaging 80-100 hour weeks (not a misprint, I literally worked over 80 hours every week the majority of the time), I am back to normal hours. I also discovered my stress level has decreased, I'm sleeping better, relaxing more, spending time with hobbies and making new friends. Job-wise, I actually feel intellectually fulfilled each and every day and if I do want to work more, its my decision, not because some cult was making me by bullying, gossiping, and other high school type acts. For those seasoned professionals, this job is not at all about expanding your knowledge nor is it about mentoring. All your studying, all your time an effort to get certifications is reduced down to how much money can you make upper management, even if it means cutting corners, forging data, and compromising your ethical integrity. Your ideas mean nothing here as they are all about maximizing profit. Because of this philosophy, they will drive employees to the breaking point. Once they do, they will either get fired or quit and then rinse and repeat with the next crop of employees, which is usually a 6-8 month process. So in order to maximize their "machine" sure they will offer free lunch, a 24-gym, and even alcohol to lull you into a false sense of security because the longer you are at your desk, the more money in their pocket. I feel sorry for their young employees who don't know any better and drink the "kook-aid" freely in order to gain acceptance or find some meaning with their superiors. Those that mostly write positive reviews have some carrot at the end of the stick even though they will never say this. Any coherent, reasonable minded individual will realize this. AG was not my first job and am a seasoned professional but I will say that this place was the least professional. If I was younger, working here would have set my career back ten-fold. Those thinking of getting additional degrees, night school, or really anything not in line with their engine, you will see yourself become an outcast quickly. I truly miss the people I work with because while working here you will develop strong bonds, much like soldiers in the trenches. I know most try to stay under the radar because they need the money or hopeful that things will change. For those brothers and sisters, I assure you there are greener opportunities where you will matter, where you be encouraged, where you will be trained to be a professional, and most importantly, where you will be treated with the understanding that your time is needed elsewhere as well such as with your family and friends. I left the company and I must say its the best decision I could have made for myself, both mentally, emotionally, and physically. Life is too short to dedicate it to an entity who will replace you the moment you fall from their graces. P.S. An entity that picks culture as their main priority, thats call a cult. Thats the meaning of the word. If you are considering working here, go on Netflix and watch the Scientology documentary. The similarities are very similar to this so called culture.

Pros

Expanding company with significant upside. Great comp packages and very quick growth opportunities. Benefits packages are over the top too.

Cons

High expectations around client experience can lead to high work load periods. It’s always been worth it in the the end but it’s definitely not a 9-5.

Pros

Free food & coffee, good benefits

Cons

The worst management and leadership I have ever experienced. Hostile, abusive, toxic, and extreme lack of professionalism. If you went to a top law school and are looking for a respectable job, DO NOT work here. Sadly, your career will begin and end here if you don’t get out quickly. Certain supervisors/senior attorneys displayed signs of active addiction/use during work trips and work hours, which created a very scary and concerning environment. They also severely underpay attorneys and make you “earn” an office. There are so many actual law firms in Houston, so please stay as far away from this place as possible.
