Pros
The culture here is great, the best work environment you could ask for. Most companies say there’s opportunities for growth, Apex lives by that. Almost everyone in the senior positions started off somewhere else in the company and worked their way up. Hard work is noticed and rewaded. Apex as a company is very inclusive. I came in as a temp and everyone immediately made me feel like I was part of the team. Most places aren’t like this with temps in my experience. Every month they offer career path assistance to help give you guidance regarding your goals within the company. .if you’re interested in a different position they’ll help show you how to get there. They also offer a mentoring program, which is great especially for people like me just starting their careers. Being able to learn from someone with decades of experience has been an invaluable learning experience for me. The managers genuinely want to help you succeed. Every month my manager gives me feedback, things I’m doing well, things I can improve on, and it’s been very helpful so far. When I was still new to the company, but after our training was complete, she would block off an hour or two everyday and sit with me at my desk and go over everything I had questions about. Part of my success is due to my hard work, but part is also due to the support I got from her. Apex gives you all the tools and training you need to succeed, and they’re truly invested in making that happen. I could sit here and say good things all day, but I will leave it at that. I plan on staying for as long as they’ll have me One day after I have the yeas of experience, I hope I can mentor some new college grads and show them the Apex way, as my mentors have done with me
Cons
The only thing that comes to mind is the Christmas time of policy. We have a rule that only 3 analysts can be off per day, which is totally fine for 51 weeks of the year. I was a little surprised to find out this policy stays in place during Christmas. We get Christmas Eve and day off, so it’s not like we’re working those days. But I didn’t even bother putting in for the rest of the week early as I just thought it was a given that if we wanted we could take the rest of that week. So having the opposite week off as the rest of the family and not being to spend that time with them is a little disappointing. If there was one thing I would change it would be this.
