Pros
The "girlfriend experience" is at the core of every interaction. Customer service, makeup, skincare, and having fun are part of every shift. If you like makeup or just like the btand, it is an amazing job.
Cons
In-store politics are exhausting. A female/gay-male dominated company leads to lots of drama and focus that is not on the business or the clients. Poor district management leads to lacking wages, minimal feedback on operational matters. Lots of gaps in communication from corporate to boutique level. I have experienced several times managers who are not keen on promoting from within. The practice of "temporary key holders" leads to lower wages if the associate becomes a permanent key.
