Pros
Pays relatively high salary with base-heavy structure. People are very smart and well behaved. Can experience or at least observe major and impactful stuff in the energy sector. Very easy to get appointment with major companies with bp name which can be a con that it could mistake you to think you are a VIP which could be toxic for your career if you’re not planning on working at bp or equivalent company for the rest of your life.
Cons
Super boring. Generally, people are not passionate and some are even calling the company as a retirement village. Bureaucratic processes which are sometimes not clear is super annoying. Also they like to keep senior level folks single contributors without giving resources to focus on their level of jobs—ending up high salary resources spending hundreds of hours for their own analyst work.
