Pros

I was first drawn in to the company with their welcoming environment, positive and upbeat work culture, and "family" centered ideals. They shower you with tokens of appreciation and swag to make you feel "a part of the team" and to foster a sense of security and positivity. However, one finds out very quickly that this is all a farce.

Cons

The upper management was very condescending and micromanaged any and all tasks, to the point where it was unproductive and affected my mental health. I would have frequent anxiety attacks in regards to my workload and having to continually attest it was done correctly. They would be very passive-aggressive in how communication was handled, despite my best efforts to be open and transparent. Communication is a very difficult piece at this company, and they would rather deal with matters in a hush-hush/closed door matter rather than up-front. Such is the way of corporate. Each review I had was haphazard and condescending. Other companies that I was a part of have a formalized process. But not here. There wasn’t a process, and instead a critique of personal traits rather than one's work output. It was never delivered in a professional, corporate manner, with few examples and very little room for two-way communication as to what might be hindering progress. It made me feel dejected and not motivated to want to do more and be better in my role. I was made to feel that because my managers were “responsible” for me, it was a chore on their part. I continually asked for revolving communication and transparency, yet never received any in kind. Despite the constant negative feedback from superiors, I would receive positive comments from others around me that I was doing well in my role and they were appreciative of my assistance in projects and reports. I had been vocal about wanting to grow within the company, and asked for new opportunities to further that growth. Yet time and time again I was met with the excuse that “bureaucracy was slow”. In reality, they don't care about helping you build your career. This is something that had been expressed to me by multiple individuals during my tenure here. It was also apparent that they ignore people who are differently abled. Instead of building off of one's strengths, especially when these individuals highlighted them as such, it was blatantly ignored. Their inability to handle different workstyles and resilience to work with varying ideals that don't fit their mold rings back to a bygone era of the corporate world. They are cliquish and hold grudges of any slight, real or imagined (and is often the latter) which makes it difficult and arduous to accomplish any tasks. They set you up to fail because they would rather maintain the status quo than encourage new employees to thrive. It’s a systematic failure caused by lack of strategic direction, ‘we’re like a family’ excuses instead of actual policies, and a consistent hostile environment perpetuated by all of the above. They will draw you in with a positive message and comfy atmosphere. Do not be fooled. This company cares very little for its employees.
