Pros

low expectations, not much crunch, they fairly upfront about being more of an M&A company than a development studio.

Cons

low wage, not really that stable -- periodic layoffs because of their strategy of buying up old online games and milking them for what's left.

Dear Colleague, thank you very much for your honest feedback and criticism. Concerning a few of the points mentioned by you, we would like to give you also our view on them or clarify them. As you know, the gamigo group is part of Media Games Invest. MGI is indeed focused on M & A transactions. Nevertheless the gamigo group is a stable group of gaming companies and works as a game publisher and not as a pure development studio. This has been the business model from the beginning of the gamigo group. The expectations are not low, on the contrary, we expect and encourage high quality work from all the employees, no matter the department or the games they are working on. Regarding the salary: we are doing our best to be competitive with the market and to be fair when it comes to the professional knowledge and experience of the candidates chosen for a certain position within the company. As for the games: before choosing which games will be purchased, the gamigo group measures the success rate of them before, based on strong analyses and data. It can happen that some games might be older, but still very strong on the market. We take such concerns from the employees very serious which is why we would be more than happy to have a confidential discussion with you to see if we can support you further and bring some more light into the aspects, that are maybe not that clear. You can reach out to us anytime under hr@gamigo.com Your HR Team

It's a bigger company so some things take a bit to get done.

Pros

They showed me how not to be treated for my next job.

Cons

They would give higher titles which came with more work and no pay increase. They would start off community managers at 22K per year which is 2/3 below industry standard at the time for a qualified community manager. Raises were rarely given, and when they were, it was literally cents per hour. After being stupidly loyal for 8 years, working 12-14 hours a day on multiple games and in multiple languages, I was unceremoniously laid off along with dozens of others. The upper management has no clue what our jobs were, which must have been the determining factor on who was cut and then resulted in the downfall of the games we all worked on. Only 3 of the games are still at gamigo today with over 8 being closed down or sold off since.
