Pros
There are several things that come to mind when thinking about why I love my job: - We have tremendous impact on our clients. We genuinely work on their most important issues (senior-level talent and leadership issues) and help them make real changes. Coming from strategy consulting where often our "work" ended up on a shelf somewhere, this has been a huge shift. It's great to know you're actually making a difference. - The team is incredibly talented and helps each other grow & learn in ways that I haven't experienced elsewhere. - The flexibility to choose what you want to work on (rather than being "staffed' to a project in the middle of nowhere without any say) is tremendous. I get to focus on working on projects that I really enjoy, and with people I like to work with. Also, you can dial up or dial down your intensity depending on what else is going on in your life, which is amazing.
Cons
Hard to come up with downsides - I think for people who crave face-to-face interaction every day, it can be tougher because we tend to work remotely. There is occasional travel, but significantly less than with other consulting jobs, so it's not a big issue.
