Pros

The engineering, analytics and product culture is great. They've hired a talented sales force that is self sufficient. Great comp and benefits. If you're lower or mid level and there's distance between you and the Sr execs you will probably have a pleasant experience. It was pleasant enough for me (note pleasant, not fulfilling), but that's because I didn't have to deal with too much drama. The company has a focused roadmap. The vision is narrow, but I think that's a pro in such a cluttered space. Another big pro is that the talent at iSpot is huge, and people have diverse perspectives when you can dig in 1 on 1. The office environment is relaxed and supportive among peers. I like the friends I made in my time there and unlimited PTO.

Cons

Top heavy in the sense that dept leaders aren't accountable for anything beyond brainstorming. Meaning if you have a great idea that's executed poorly or never executed at all, no one will notice as long as the idea was talked about sufficiently and with enthusiasm. There's a leaning toward rewarding and reinforcing self-absorbed personalities who are cheerleaders for telling Sr execs what they want to hear. There are personality politics that are childish to try and navigate around if you're someone who enjoys producing work. I would posit that this style of culture inherently is not in the best interest of women or minorities and solution-oriented personalities alike, since it's generally unclear what it will take (or who you have to get to like you) to get something done. Most decisions are made mysteriously 1:1 behind closed doors.

The work mixes creativity and data-driven decisions. I like the team-centric environment and the variety of projects. There are real chances to develop new skills here. The benefits and work-life balance are good.

Cons

Product releases and campaign launches bring a lot of pressure.
