Pros

When the refinance boom was happening, you could make a lot of money at loanDepot even though you had to work really hard. The company is 2nd largest non-bank direct lender in the country and can survive losing money for awhile if necessary.

Cons

They are becoming more and more like Quicken Loans every day. This means that you have someone watching everything you do. Every phone call is recorded, you have to ask everyone for a credit card before running credit. They have even added video devices in the cubicles to video tape everything you do. They have taken micro management to new levels, so it is great for something that really needs hand holding to do their job. If they even think you are looking at other possible jobs, they will fire you on the spot, so don't trust them at all. Don't give a 2 week notice because they will fire you immediately. They are the most mismanaged company I have ever worked for, so good luck!

As a high-growth and fast-paced company, we all at times work long days. At the same time, we also encourage employees to take advantage of their 15 days of PTO and the fun activities we offer during the work experience. Things like Wednesday treats, parking lot races, quarterly thematic lunches, and more. Cultures like ours may not be an ideal fit for everyone. We appreciate you sharing your concerns and will include them in our ongoing efforts to improve our work environment.

Pros

Work from home, loans get closed on time

Cons

They are not scared to fire pregnant women or to downgrade their job after maternity leave and pretend like it's the same job- it happened to me and at least one other employee
