Pros
-employee discount and workout stipend, especially generous for full-time -easy to pick up shifts at other stores in nyc or even out of your region if travelling extensively / easy to get coverage -some of the most talented, fun, ambitious people I've worked with -management will help you grow in the company if that is your goal -company culture very focused on individual growth and goal setting -typically always experienced clear communication from management and between educators. exception was visual merch team. -team sales goals if you don't like working under individual commission -exciting time to be involved with the fitness community in NYC, and studios/gyms will always want to treat lulu employees well. you have a lot of personal freedom if you want to help create community events. not much extra pay if any, but opportunity to make connections and experiences valuable to your future career
Cons
-easy to feel micromanaged, depending on which key leader/manager you're working with -sometimes expectations were a little unrealistic and it is hard to stand up for yourself because of the "giving/receiving feedback" culture -majority of growth opportunity is only in management unless you want to move to Canada -visual merch was always very rushed and lacked consistency/communication because everyone has different ideas and is able to change them throughout any shift. -it's probably the best retail environment you can work in, but it's still a customer service job where you'll deal with unhappy customers, cleaning up after them, etc
