Pros
The food is truly excellent. You won't find better salads anywhere. The benefits were above average.
Cons
To this day, the company re-orgs almost quarterly. You have little to no job security. I know what you are thinking - "it couldn't be me". Yes, it 100% could be. You are 100% expendable at SG despite the way they market themselves. In my short time at Sweetgreen, I had 5 bosses. This was due to constant senior leadership interference. Most of the senior leadership team came from tech, and SG is a restaurant company. So, as you can imagine, all of the focus was put into technology and very little on running a great restaurant concept. You can see this to this very day in the way the business is handled. Working at Sweetgreen felt like herding cats in an active hurricane. The company focus shifted week to week, with little to no rationale. This left operations teams confused, ill-equipped, and ultimately jaded.
