Mostly Good, still Some Work to Do

Pros

Empower's upper leadership was completely prepared for the company to go 100% remote as soon as COVID hit. In many ways, the company didn't miss a beat, and because of this, management encouraged people to stay remote permanently if they chose to. Unlike many other companies, Empower leadership hasn't gone back on their word and forced us back into the office. Benefits are fantastic, vacation time is very flexible for many of us. I trust the leadership to continue navigating the company in the right direction.

Cons

Pay could use a bump, as that has largely been stagnant, so while the benefits are great, the salaries have us struggling to keep up in this world of high inflation. Company is pushing some events that are based on specific political and social viewpoints but have no place in a work environment. Political views are not only irrelevant to job performance, they are also inappropriate for the workplace. I was always taught to keep politics, personal views, and religion out of the professional environment, and I would like to go back to that.

Pros

My team is amazing! I love working with my peers. The support we provided one another is awesome. We even have fun at work!

Cons

Empower is a large/global organization working across many time zones. Getting together all at the same time can make scheduling meetings challenging. Knowing who to invite to the meetings for the best outcome is difficult with such a large workforce.

Pros

A lot of OT. The 401k discretionary match

Cons

Customers, the pay, the amount of mandatory OT, the lack of preparedness, the company doesn’t care about your well being. Its work work work
