Pros

Varying workloads with many different clients and scopes of work

Cons

They do not uphold the handbook. The handbook reads that you are entitled to cell phone stipend if you are in the field more than 50% of the time. Almost no one gets this benefit. You are entitled to year end reviews every year. You will be lucky to have a year end review every other year. If you complain to HR about the handbook not being followed you will need to accompany that email with a read receipt. If not it will be ignored, if HR responds you will receive an email saying that something will be done and will go through the process again a month later. You are entitled to a professional certification or licensing, to obtain this you must go through HR. HR will not make an attempt to help. You will be told there are opportunities for advancement and years will go by and you might see two co-workers get a level bump. Unfulfilled promises and a bad office environment at my specific branch are out of control.

Pros

EnSafe is a small firm but growing firm. Due to the small size of the firm, I feel that I have great access to the principals, and once I got used to that, I feel rather comfortable reaching out to them to ask questions. Projects vary drastically, and I'm constantly getting new challenges. I feel my compensation is fair, and benefits are great, particularly holiday PTO in December (4 floating days, in addition to xmas and new years.) Supervisor is very fair, and allows me some flexibility around my schedule.

Cons

Small firm, no specific training process or obvious progression regime. Most of my assigned projects I've had to figure out on my own, or hunt down advice on my own. This may be specific to my particular circumstances. Overall though, it has just forced me to pursue all that information on my own. As with any salary job requiring traveling, travel occurs on my time, and thus cuts into my personal life.
