Enbridge reviews

The message communciated by the most senior levels of management is that we need to be the industry leader in all aspects of the business (Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Shareholder delivery, Engineering, Reliability). This often leads to a mixed message of priorities. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, is convoluted and complicated and overthought. Some of the most simple decisions or tasks at Enbridge can get mired in multiple layers of bureaucracy. Very little room to operate autonomously. This creates tremendous obstacles and difficulties for front line staff who are responsible for making work happen. The culture in the area where I work is very pessimistic and negative. This may not be the case across the rest of the company. Constant organizational change. 5 yrs and I have yet to report to a manager that makes it a priority to train thier people properly and build a strong team. Very hard to find a work/life balance. The company promots a healthy work/life balance but stacks so much work on you that the former will win out.
