      Friendly staff, workload is manageable.

      Cons

      I am per diem, so I cannot get a raise even though I have worked there for 5 years. New hires are making more per hour than I am and I am considered a veteran.

      Pros

      Healthsouth Valley of the Sun. Nice facility, great coworkers, competitive salary. Staff cares about the patients. Doctors of all specialties are available. Several case managers. Respiratory therapy. Certified nurses and therapists.

      Cons

      Nurse and tech ratio to patients is extremely high and stressful for the acuity level of the patients. This was the reason I left as well as all those that left while I was there. Management made no effort to change the ratio. There isn't a doctor present overnight.

      staff is close like a family

      Cons

      Does not care about patient safety or care. Only cares about getting census up regardless of safety risks. Admissions can be as much as 6-11 patients/day
