Pros

Stability of the company through the ups and downs of the volatile oil & gas market

Cons

Pay is not competitive with others in the same industry. No understanding of work/life balance. Good ol' Boy system for promotions and advancements. They will just hire anyone off the street regardless of skill level and then expect others to do the work of the unskilled.

Pros

The company will pay you well but they want you to come into the office daily. Depending on your manager you may be micromanaged. You have to be on the LIKED list to be promoted.

Cons

Its the good old boy system. If you kiss up or brown nose you can get to wherever it is you're trying to go.
