Pros

The only pro about this job is the peers you work with. England logistics is missing out on some of the greatest and hardest working people I know. Even though its a hard job, everyone is willing to work through it.

Cons

It only took me about 4 months before I started looking for a new job. No potential for growth, extremely low compensation and commission for the amount of work. If you don't enjoy lying to other people or not revealing all the details, this job is not for you. You will constantly put trucking companies in bad positions for England's benefit . If you are a capacity manager be ready to take orders. You will be the one dealing with the angry drivers and be told what lies to say to "defuse" the situation. If you want to work for a company that listens to feedback, this is not the place. Management asks how they can improve and when they hear opinions its rejected, frowned upon, and some have even lost their jobs for voicing their opinion. I felt completely expendable everyday I went into work. You either see or hear someone being fired or leaving EACH week. Its not 40 hours a week. You will have a cell phone for a week at a time taking calls through the night and working some Saturdays. Don't expect to get any breaks. You are promised 2 ten minute breaks each day, but you will be constantly harassed for taking them. I never had casino night, but heard it's terrible. The list can go on, but in short you would benefit looking for another job.

Pros

Those on the floor are a hard working group of people who are very talented at what they do. There is great potential to grow as a company, if they would invest in their employees, and listened to them. Great place to gain experience in the transportation industry.

Cons

When the former President left to become the CEO of CR England, so did the hope of keeping this brokerage at the top of it's class. Management has no idea what is actually taking place on the sales floor. They tout growth, and claim to hit record numbers, but I think that most stats are padded. They do not invest in their employees. It basically lives up to the nickname "Cut Throat Island". The ramp attainment is unreasonable, and punishes those who have worked there for more than a year. Those who have tenure will make less and less the longer that they work for England. England is perceived as a brief layover to gain experience towards an actual career. It has become nothing more than a glorified call center. You are forced to make a certain number of phone dials everyday, and they look at quantity rather than quality. Sink or swim mentality. HUGE turnover rate. Expensive benefits. High stress, and not a place that you would want to stay for long.

Pros

You can learn to sell freight then move on to a real company. I also enjoyed my coworkers, but we have all quit by now.

Cons

Slave drivers, weekend phone unpaid, argue to get paid commissions on cross sales, it was literally the worst job of my life and I've worked some crappy jobs.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Many of your points especially regarding weekend phone duty and challenges with cross sales have been true. We have taken significant steps over this past year to remove these challenges and other barriers to the quality of work life and success to our people. We continue to be committed to becoming a better company and an even stronger leader in the third party logistics industry. We are also striving to become a great place for our people to work. We do stretch ourselves here and ask everyone to do the same. In return, the growth and rewards are tremendous. We invite anyone to come and get to know us and see the tremendous potential here, as we all work to continuously improve. Thank you again for sharing your experience.
