RUN!

Pros

Got to be good friends with the other grunts.

Cons

This is a sweatshop and that is all. You will be hired with 5-10 other folks and put though training. Look around you because the first casualties with your class will be within the next two weeks. Your goal is to out perform your peers and suck up to your supervisor so that when your classmates get fired you can obtain their accounts. Basically just run faster than the guy next to you. I lasted a year before I found something better. Best advice I can give anyone is RUN! The only reason you should consider EL is if your unemployment runs out, you are an ex-con, and cannot find anything else. Err wait, not even then. I cannot help but be disgusted every time I see one of your trucks now.

Pros

The people whom I worked with are still some of my closest friends. I learned a lot about the industry during my tenure at EL.

Cons

Working harder doesn't necessarily equal greater pay. Upper management focuses on rewarding those in sales roles and doesn't provide much support or encouragement for people in support roles. Middle management lacks integrity and doesn't listen to the needs of their employees. My time at EL was demoralizing at best and downright depressing at its worst. There are lots of politics at play and those who can play the game well are rewarded with good accounts when other people leave. Promotions are based on who you know and not what you can do. EL doesn't show much loyalty to its employees--they fired one of their best workers who was just in the wrong position just so they could make a point. All it served to do was lower morale. Upper management does not take feedback well and will reference outdated evidence about the markets to defend their unwillingness to change. This has cost the company a lot in revenue and resources (good talent leaving, customers choosing to work with other companies that provide better service) and I don't predict a lot growth from this company in the future. The systems in place are not going to change any time soon.
