Pros

Clean and pretty renovated hospital. Nice staff and nurses. I actually work PER DIEM which is great for any students (nursing student). I am a float PCA as well and the nursing office workers are very polite and friendly. I am suppose to work 3 shifts a month and a few times that did not happen due to school but they never said anything. However when i can i work so there are months I'm working at least once a week.

Cons

PAY : i got hired at englewood after an interview at an open house that i found out about from my nursing school. They hired me on the spot and after told me my salary of $12.50 for morning shift .. 14 for for evening and 15 for night plus an addition of $1 on evenings. I have NEVER seen such low pay for a PCA. I work at another hospital that pays 18 and all of my friends who are nursing assistants as well get paid at least $16 an hour. Such a joke. -- they did just increase pay to $14 morning shift which to me that is still very low for a nursing assistant! Nursing office: since I'm per diem and a float i make my own schedule on when i can work. The nursing office staff are really sweet but beware they will call you EVERYDAY. There were days where i got called twice too after i told them i could not come in. I do understand it is there job to call (since they told me). RN hours: I had just graduated nursing school and another set back to me applying for RN position is the 8 hour shifts. Most floors at EHMC are 8 hours , few are 12. As a nurse i know i would only want a 12 hour shift.
