Pros

The benefits are typically close to best industry benefits. 4-day work week is nice (when you get it).

Cons

All power plants require outage, and nuclear is no different. These aren't just maintenance outages; they're refueling outages. The more you get qualified, the more burden will be laid on you during these outages. Because it's a power plant, it requires 24-7 operation even though engineers don't work 24-7. This means you're at the whim of some folks to call you in at 2 AM... especially if you're highly qualified. The red tape is getting worse. Obviously, with nuclear you'd expect to see your fair share of red tape. It's getting worse. More processes don't always fix the problem and more processes appear to always be the knee-jerk reaction to management.
