Pros

Relaxed environment for an industrial job. Civilian work clothes if desired. Rotating DuPont schedule allows for 7 days break and mini-vacations. Only forced when under-staffed. OT is there if you want it. Typical year for someone who works OT when it comes up, but is not a complete hog, is around 140k. Base is 101-103k ish with built in OT and depending on your years of service and paygrade. Laid back and family atmosphere. If you want to make it into the upper 180-200k range, a refinery or chemical plant is best. Very few chemicals at the plant, so more safe, considering high power steam and electricity, which should never be touched. Longevity may be issue, unless working at the new build coming soon. Did not and does not require vaccination. Hourly wage is only slightly behind industry standards by $2-$3. But less competition makes up for it.

Cons

No pension. But 401k match at 100% for up to 6%. Vested after 3 years. Not a lot of upward mobility, unless you want to move around in the system, which could be to Arkansas or Mississippi. Typical politics and corporate agenda pushing.
