Pros
-At River Bend management rewards good performance with raises/promotions pretty well -Above Average Pay and Annual Bonus for Engineering -4 day workweek with 1 day remote and most supervisors don't make a big deal about working hours if you get your work done as expected. -Close to Baton Rouge is a plus as most nuclear sites are in the middle of nowhere and you can't live in a city.
Cons
-On call at least every 8 weeks and cannot leave within 1 hr drive of the plant or drink. Subject to callout at any hour day or night during this week even if you haven't gotten sleep to prepare for nights. -Outages require 60-72 hr work weeks possibly on night shift. You must dedicate your life to work during outages. Depending on level of seniority/expertise outage can be very boring if you don't have enough work to fill these hours or you can be overwhelmed with too much since people will go to you for everything. -Keep changing organizational structure and direction in ways that don't make sense in an effort to reduce costs. They've increased number of supervisors and reduced number of engineers in latest reorganization despite same amount of work.
